About me
I am an artist working in photography and video.
My work creates surreal blends of subjects, such as shoes that are made of plants, insects on faces and canvases made of flesh. The work is "strangely familiar and unsettling.” The construction process starts with an object, ideas are triggered from this expanding into many different works that explore mutual harm, consciousness, memories and the blurred lines between life and objects.
Themes in my work include the ease of access we have through technology to see anything and everything happening on the planet. Globalised surveillance - how we can access it and are also under surveillance ourselves. Another idea I explore is how most intimate relationships (human and otherwise) involve mutual harm. I would say much of my work makes the familiar strange and the everyday unsettling. I love the surreal in among the everyday.
